Anyway , just a short post for those who haven't seen how the CO badge looks like up close .

It's pretty small in size , so I guess y'all can't see it .

Which is why I took a picture of it , and posted it .

This is how it looks like , pretty right !

We're gonna make it compulsory to wear this CO badge every Monday and Friday .

That is , when you're wearing the school uniform .

If you're wearing PE shirt on that day then you don't have to pin it on your collar .

As to which collar to pin it on ,

PIN IT ON THE LEFT SIDE BECAUSE ITS NEARER TO YOUR HEART .

As mentioned earlier on that our SYF is on the 21st April 2011, Thursday, we would like to know if there are anyone interested to watch us on that day. We have 20 tickets available. Alumnus will have the priority to get the tickets first. Anyone who wants the tickets please inform Ruo Han, the QM. First come first serve! :)

For your information, we'll be reporting at Singapore Conference Hall at 11AM. Estimated time that we'll be performing is 12:10PM. :)

Hey everyone. Our SYF date is on ...

21ST APRIL 2011, THURSDAY

It is also the third and last day of the competition. We'll be performing at around 12:10PM, the 4th school of the 1st session. This time, the results of ALL 3 days will be announced together on the third day itself, which is also our competition day. Results will be announced at 5PM @ the SCH.

Let's all work hard to our goals okay! GOLD! Or even GOLD WITH HONOURS! Let's all strive towards the end together and make our dreams come true by attaining a gold with honours!

We understand that hard work will definitely have to be put in, hence there will be either an increase in number of practices or increase in the duration of practice. Please be understanding and cooperate with us. We understand that it is really very tiring to be having so many practices per week. But we have only 1 more month to SYF. There is not much time left, and as an orchestra, we're all improving but we STILL HAVE MORE TO IMPROVE ON. So, please everyone let's work hard together alright! Let's put in our best effort to make SYF'11 an awesome one! Shall we?

We have all survived the tough and tiring training camp during the March holidays, 3 days from 9am to 6pm. We really thank each and everyone of you for attending this camp, we really appreciate every hard work you put in. We hope that all these hard work won't be wasted okay! 我们一起加油吧!!!

Hi Everyone. Thanks thanks for coming to the farewell chalet. Thank you everyone for making it possible and also making it so memorable for the seniors! Starting from the games in the morning to the setting up of fire for the bbq. Thanks for chipping in although we know how tiring it is to have to play games in the morning and yet still help out for the bbq and setting up of chalet. Thank you all so much for being there with us to and helping out.

We hope you've enjoyed the games and the food at the chalet that has been planned (: and even if you didn't enjoy it, we hope that you will be able to enjoy the chalet next year.

Hey, as you all have probably heard if you attended sectionals today, AHSCO is finally going overseas :D i'm not sure when was the last time our CCA actually went overseas, but I saw a photo once of ahsco performing in malaysia and it was like in 1990s. LOL. SO, be GLAD that we get a chance to go overseas.
And since we have this opportunity, please PLEASE PLEASE try to work harder and be more serious during practices!

HI to all. This is zhao yi here.

I have to update the blog to inform u guys about the upcoming CO practice in the June holidays.
first of all, i would like all of u to understand that we made these dates for practices.

7th June (Monday)---> Week 2
11th June (Friday )---> Week 2
21st June (Monday)---> Week 4
25th June (Friday) ---> Week 4

These dates above, the sec ones are suppose to have intensive training. BUT not to worry, practice hard, play hard too. Take it easy. Everyone will have a great time !

For every session, there will be ONE day( 8th, 9th , 10th June or any other dates that is fixed by your own section) that ur section is suppose to come back and have sectional self practice. That date is fixed by ur SLs already. I hope you all are clear of which dates to come back.

The woodwind sectional (suona, dizi, sheng) is the only special case. The section should know what i mean.

Mr Goh WILL book the classrooms on the 4 compulsory dates above. Not to worry about that.

I understand the upper sec are having extra lessons on the 4th week, but they are still required to come in the afternoon (because lessons are in the morning only). Please understand that. Thanks.

Please come for all the practice dates. If u are not able to make it for any of the dates , do INFORM Mr Goh, like give him a call will do. If u have last min plans to go on a holiday with ur family, please feel free to inform Mr Goh. There is no need to be shy.

We would really be grateful if ALL of u can turn up PUNCTUALLY. And do be honest with yourself to turn up. :) The practices may be tough, it might be tiring, but once all of u mastered the basics, dazu will NOT be a problem at all. It may be hard at first, but, the june holiday practices are to help u as much as we can. And to enjoy a CO bond. THANK YOU!

yea finally. this shall be my last post over here. because it'll be the juniors that will be updating over here in future. announcement: the new pres is CHARMAINE and vice pres is GUI ER. they shall update on the section of committee 09/10 and remove us from the members list and promote us to the seniors' list. thats the first job that they should do. HAHA.

yea actually i haven't really thank AHSCO officially for giving me their co-operation and respect for we seniors. linlaoshi said we're the most disciplined school among the other schs that he conduct. HAHA but as for now, it's really not tht way due to some reason that i know you know he knows she knows everyone knows. yea :D i know i'm abit lag. I SHALL DO IT NOW.

hello! i know it's boring to see me here again. i forgot to praise you all for the good effort most members (some are still slack, wa i feel like saying who these annoying people are) have put in these few months. and most importantly, linlaoshi actually "tried" to praise us on friday, but not sure whether you all get the hint? and linlaoshi made it easier for us by cutting those very challenging parts for sheng and dizi alrd. please put in more effort in refining your dizi parts DIZIs. hope the camp can be approved, and i'm counting on the camp.

nevertheless, we are still not up to standard yet. i dont know it's a kind of ahs laid back culture or what. we only have the sense of urgency when the central judging is only near the corner. i'm really not like that when i was in sec 2 lor. i was very obedient because i was very scared of huiling back then, but i really don't see the reason why people want to pon. they are _______s (:

oh my gosh people! WE FINALLY DID IT!!! the concert was a memorable experience for all. i'm sure we have left a good impression on the audiences. although it's not perfect, but we made it! thank you for all the time and effort that you've dedicated, especially during the whole-day long practices. yay, we managed to survive the long practices. but i'm sure the bonding between all of us has reached a higher level. hurray! 3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for AHSCO, hip hip hurray! continue to stay this way ok? i'm sure we can do it for the SYF 2009 which is approaching in 4 months' time(: jiayou. the challenge is inching towards us. yup alright i made some amendments here and there in the CO blog. i have included ALL the names of the orchestra's members inside. I JUST HOPE I DIDNT LEAVE OUT ANY. took some time to do it. mai siao siao(: actually im the one who was supposed to do it, apparently i didnt because i am a lazybum.by the way, i changed the font:D

anyway, i see SOME improvement in the whole orchestra TODAY, which really deserve some applause and recognition, BUT i encourage EVERYONE to try even harder for our end year concert and next year's SYF. Erm got hold of the SYF's set piece already. So people lets work uber hard to maintain at least a GOLD(:
can we? jiayou jiayou!!! i'm sure we can do it!

besides, we are going to have CO farewell chalet in 1 month's time. Let's all look forward to it! remember its 10-11 dec for NON- COMM MEMBERS. okay just now me and Joscelin(instrument IC) passed by the This Fashion outlet at bedok, so we just went in to source for our red long-sleeved collared shirt. we didnt manage to find red, the shop only had white, black, yellow and pink. but then maybe if we go to some other larger this fashion outlets we can find red colour. the sizes come in S, M, L. original price $33 but after a 30% discount the price is $23.10. honestly its already quite cheap considering that it is from this fashion.

oh yeah so i tried it on to get a feel of it how it feels like. the material is ok, quite comfortable. so here is the pic. DONT LAUGH AT ME HOR. i know im a lousy model lah. XP

yups so it looks like that. oh yeah i tried on size M. this shirt is only for girls, the guys will need a different design. notice the designs at the waist, its not completely plain. somehow i feel that the cut shouldnt be so straight haha. so anyway, if you all come across a cheaper red shirt than this, please go tell zhenyi, weiqian or leejing. oh and also please ensure that it can be ordered in bulk.

ok. cca= co-curriculum activity. and it is compulsory.
so. for your info, pon-ing cca is an offence and green forms will be issued to ppl who pon repeatedly.

however, if you all have something on, and cant go, is ok de.

ok. so what's a valid reason?

our orchestra's standard is... you all know de.
so. by going to concerts, we can observe how other orchestra's play and express their music.

for english, the best way to improve is to read.
for CO, the best wayS to improve is to keep practising and observe and learn from others.

okay. hi. um. this is a sec1 posting so i shall b nice(: seniors u can delete this post if yall dont like it. u noe b4 CO we get some extra time lar right? can people come straight after class? i am not saying any names here but i had observed it. for EXAMPLE. yesterday. CO Pres said sec1s come at 2. i know. but yesterday we had one less period of PW. so should come at 1.25 right? and don't come exactly ON TIME. at 2. the 20mins grace is given for people who need to see teacher, go pigeon holes and stuff. if yall don't need to, the time is given for yall tune your instruments and practice a bit before Sectionals or Dazu. some people come early to pactice. tat's good. but the on-timers keep streaming in. and let's say your section de seat arrangement is like the tambos', woodwinds' or huqin's, how do you expect them to practice? they want practice but if yall keep going in and out to get tuner, strings or instruments, how you think they can prac? okay. so yar. try to get my point. come straight after school. must learn how to love CO! yar. get it? i hope yall get it lar. or else this post would be another junk in the Blog World.

hello co, this is dora as treasurer here (:

as you all already know, the committee has implemented fines for those who are late. 50 cents for being late the first ten minutes and $1 for being late thereafter. all fines will go into the co fund, which is used for all the photocopying charges, buying strings/ batteries for tuners, etc. and if you dont have money that day, you have to either borrow from a friend or do duty, which means cleaning up of the CO room.

i hope all of you understand that it is your responsibility to come early for co practice. BEING LATE IS REALLY UNACCEPTABLE. this is part of the committee's effort to improve the discipline of co and i hope you all do cooperate. and when you are late and have to pay a fine, please dont curse or sulk at me, okay. you just have to come early. i dont enjoy collecting fines too, so please, try to come early, k? (: reach before 1.30pm on mondays and before 12.30pm on fridays, and i can assure you that fines will not come knocking on your door. oh ya and even if ur bag is there and you yourself is not there. u still have to pay for the fines. your bag is not u so u cant give any excuse.

and also, for sec1s and sec2s please pass $5 for co fund to your SLs. please understand that we are very lucky as compared to COs from other schools. for example, members from temasek secondary school chinese orchestra have to pay $2 to the CO fund EVERY MONTH WITHOUT FAIL. so we are being very kind already. and please note that strings for instruments are very expensive too, so we are not asking for much, actually.
